I just spent about 10 minutes filling an online survey from http://www.indigofeedback.com/ (after I purchased 2 magazines from the Chapters bookstore on Robson and Howe Street) and realizing that this bookstore chain giant in Canada is not making/training their employees to push the customers to go online in an offline purchase.
Personally, after I learned about how you can obtain a free Burger King burger by phone in to take a 5 minutes survey after each purchase, I began to have a habit of reading all the words (not just the numbers) on my shopping receipts. Just like many stores that I visited who actually tried to use their receipts to deliver valuable/promotional information, they failed to include a simple piece of elements to make their online survey more effectively - ASK THE CASHIER TO BRIEF THE CUSTOMER ABOUT THE INFO ON THE RECEIPT.
That reminded me that when Starbucks Coffee is trying to exercise their seasonal online survey, they make sure their employees tell the customers about it. Maybe it's because Starbucks is making the survey seasonal, so the employees do not have to tell the customers all the time. Nevertheless, I still think this little reminder/gesture can actually create more synergy between the online and offline world within the same company and fill in the gaps in between.

I shop at the location in Coquitlam ( Pinetree Village ) and I am very satisfied with the service I am recieving there . The store is clean and well displeyed , I enjoy shopping there .
I shop at both Coles and Indigo in Saint John, NB, and as a Science Fantasy enthusiast I have been very satisfied with the choices in both stores. I have been to stores both in the U.S. and in England and have found fewer choices in the books I have been seeking.
I shop at the Coles store at Burlington Mall and find the staff there really helpful. They also give me good ideas as to what books I might be interested in.

I enjoy looking at the books at the Chapters, Langley Store. They have a great selection. We could spend hours there. The Coles store at Willowbrook mall isn't so great. So far we have bought 7 books this past week. Great stuff when they are marked down, especially the coffee table books, plus your irewards card. p.k. December 20, 2008 4:36 PM
I was at Chapters Metrotown, and purchased a few books for my kids.
Your selection of books is phenomenal (I was able to find what I needed) The only thing I noticed is That nobody mention anything about saving money by becoming a member. Also I found out by fluke that there is 30% discount on hard-cover books on Sundays.
I shop at the location in Medicine Hat AB.I am satisfied with the service I recieve. They don't tell u about wins u could get.I shop there for my greatgrandchildren they love the books I give them.
I enjoy shopping there & the people are great, they need to tell us about the contests.
I filled in the Indigo Customer Survey. One question was ambiguous. It said 'Did the assistant ask if I belonged to the iRewards programme? since I had my card out she did not need to ask.
I find our Coles store in Powell River, B.C. very good, staff is very informative and are right on the ball with any contests or discounts, have been a member of Coles it seems for ever.
I have been stopping by the store at 200 Bay St,Toronto to buy books recently and I find the sales personnel are very helpful and friendly. They advised me go on line to enter the competition and always ask if a member of the rewards program. I am happy with the service.
I'm thrilled that we have a large selection of English books, DVDs and games to choose from, as well as a wide variety of topics. The staff is also very pleasant and most helpful.
Best bookstore yet!

It is my first visit at the store and im looking for a kids story book for kids.I ask help from storeboy and he guided me to find kids section. All the kids books were untidy, its so crazy to find what you want.because they allow the kids reading on the floor and pickup books and read for how many hours on the floor. That should not happen you can possible give a costumer to read on one corner table with limited time.so that the books wont over use coz thats a store and not LIBRARY make a sign.So when I asked help from the sales lady who is fixing the mess She just tell its all out there try too look from shelf. She was not that acommodating to costumer which I understand because She was very busy in tidying the big mess. That store was in Metro Town.
i shop at vaious locations around the city of toronto in alls manelly, and am always happy with the courtious service i recieve, more so than at other stores, as clothing etc. sylva
I was in your Rideau St store and approached one of your employees, Pierre, with a gift predicament. I wanted someting for my nephew that was about $10. He loves hockey and movies. I was a bit embarassed at how little I had to spend, but Pierre led me to some great options, including a Canadian hockey publicaton for just $7.99.
Thanks much for the help. I usually shop un-helped, but I won't hesitate in your store to ask for assistance.
I shop at Coles Books in Nelson,B.C. I always get good service and even save money due to suggestions from the staff there.
I purchase my books at Cole's bookstore at Lambton Mall in Sarnia, ON. They are always pleasant and will look up the newest releases for certain authors my husband and myself enjoy. They did mention the on-line survey to win $1000 or an ipod. As I seldom win anything, this would be great! The store is always well organized by authors, etc.

I am so pleased to have a large English bookstore at the 10/30 complex in Brossard. It is not easy to get English books otherwise. I like the
employees as well they are very nice and helpful.
I LIKE TO SHOP AT COLES BOOKSTORE,AT THE SKEENA MALL IN TERRACE.THE STAFF IS SO NICE,EAGER TO PLEASE,THEY MAKE FEEL IMPORTANT.THAT I LIKE.THE STORE IS SO CLEAN,I ENJOY SHOPPING THERE.
Always great service and great selection. The staff are very knowledgeable and obliging!!
Bought a Kobo Ereader today in the Oakville Chapters. Had some trouble downloading a bought book and I have only accolades for one of the staff who won't beyond the call of duty to help me over the phone- even taking the problem home with her tonight to fathom it. Fortunately, I finally managed it myself later this evening and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience. The 100 free books have great titles and truly are classics. I will certainly now get the Public Library involved. Such friendly, helpful staff, actually throughout this store and they never forget to call me when my Strand magazine comes in. Thank you!!!

I love shopping at indigo,Coles and Chapters because I love to read, do art and play games. I never knew how many books these shops had! I think I'm going to go shopping to those stores forever!
I think they have the best display's!
I have bein shopping at your Indigo store at the Park Royal Centre, for a year in a half. I find the help walking around and always asking to helf, letting you know whats new and on sale.
They also hand out your cloth bags . to make it easy to car you purchases to the cash. They are extremly polite and helpfull in every way, at times annoying as well.

I have been shopping at Chapters in
edmonton for years. Live south of Edmonton and wish they would install a store in Leduc. I use my airmiles for myself and the kids at Christmas.
The staff just about bends over backwards to help. It is always a joy to walk in that store. Can't you tell I'm a bookworm.
I just purchaced the new Simon CD and was very pleased with the help from the staff. I was told about the new "plum rewards" program and have signed up.
The Chapters store is in the Stone Road Mall in Guelph.
